In Loving Memory

Lydia Clayre Oster

Devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, niece, Aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22 at the age of 60. Her loving husband, Herb and children, Nancy and Russell, were by her side.

She battled her cancer to the very end, displaying the same quiet determination that helped her achieve so much in life: her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Brooklyn College, her 39 year marriage to Herb, her years spent as a teacher to 2nd graders in Brooklyn, her dedication to raising and guiding her two children, her second career as a financial planner; earning the prestigious designation of Chartered Life Underwriter, enjoying time at her second home in Florida, the generous giving of her time to causes like the Community Reform Temple, the Belmont Child Care Association, the FEGS mentoring program for adults, breast cancer walks, her love of games of Scrabble with friends and the New York Times crossword.

She lived a full life that touched and enriched the lives of everyone around her.
